Round table - Bioregional Design
On October 20th, hosted by BC studies in the framework of the Fall School, we are gathering at Stadsatelierdeville.brussels for a roundtable discussion on "Productive City 2.0".
The conversation will explore how productive activities, local manufacturing, and circular material flows can be re-integrated into the fabric of contemporary cities.
The Brussels Canal Zone has served as a testing ground for urban renewal for years. Ten years ago, during A+ Re[Work] and the 2016 debates around the 'Productive City', the focus was primarily on the theoretical integration of manufacturing and housing. Now, it is time to take stock. Introducing the circular economy and initiatives like Stadsatelierdeville provides new topics and complexities within this debate. How could we project the Brussels Canal Zone for the next ten years and how could this be seen as a way to organise a climate neutral city?

- Frederik Serroen, BMA
